영어의 거절은 형태가 거의 고정돼 있어요. 고마움 + 못 하는 이유 두 조각입니다 — Thanks for asking, but I already have plans. / That sounds fun, but I need to rest. 한국어처럼 말끝을 흐리는 방식은 오히려 "생각해보겠다"로 읽혀서, 나중에 다시 물어보게 만들어요.
오랜만에 만났을 때는 It's been a while — how have you been lately? 하나면 충분해요. 그다음은 상대가 이어갑니다.
레벨은 문장 길이예요 — 짧은 것부터 나옵니다.
